"The Elk Coast is, perhaps, the best kept secret in Northern California...
A magical place where time really does stand still."
Elk has one of the best and most active community groups on the Coast. Their Community Center is housed next to the Volunteer Fire Department and the Center, with its redwood beams and charming stage, is the site of many festivities. The St. Patrick's Day corned beef and cabbage dinner is a gourmet affair — not to be missed. Veterans of community events marvel at their quality, quantity and style. Get your tickets early through Blessed Sacrament Church.elkcoast.jpg
village-of-elk.jpgMain Street, Elk — looking north. Shop at the Greenwood Pier. Stop in at the café for a latte. Stroll by the historic homes.
Two picturesque and thriving churches are found here, along with a non-stop profusion of flowers!small-town-california.jpg
along-the-highway.jpgJust up the street from the Community Center (the heartbeat of Elk) is the State Beach, to the west, and the Elk Garage and Queenies Café (which serves the best breakfast on the coast).
The Elk Store is across the street from the State Park. They have a little of everything and a great double Glouster, too. Get a sandwich to go and sit on the beach!the-elk-store.jpg
